Cookie Policy

Last updated:

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies the Juniper Proposals website uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let a website remember information between page views, for example that you are signed in. Similar technologies such as local storage work in a comparable way. In this policy we use "cookies" to cover all of them.

Our approach

This website is built to be privacy-conscious and self-hosted. All fonts, scripts, styles and images are served from our own website, and we keep cookies to the minimum needed to operate it securely. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not use analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not set any cookies for visitors who simply browse the public pages of the website.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies (content management area only)

Cookies are set only when a member of our team signs in to the content management area used to publish this website. Public visitors never receive these cookies. They are:

  • Authentication and session cookies. These keep a signed-in team member signed in and expire automatically after a short period or when they sign out. They contain a random identifier only, never a password.
  • Security cookies. These protect the sign-in process and the content management area against attacks such as cross-site request forgery, and enforce the additional verification steps we require for sign-in.

These cookies are essential for the secure operation of the site and are not used to track anyone.

Preference cookies

We do not currently set preference cookies on the public website.

Analytics and advertising cookies

We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking cookies. If we ever add an analytics tool, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent through a clear choice that lets you accept, reject non-essential cookies or manage your preferences before any such cookies are set. Non-essential cookies will never be switched on by default.

Third-party cookies

We only allow third parties to set cookies when a specific feature needs them:

  • Embedded videos. Some pages include videos hosted by video platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo. The video player, and any cookies the platform sets, are only loaded after you choose to play a video. Until then, only a locally hosted preview is shown. The platform's own cookie and privacy policies apply once you start playback.
  • CAPTCHA and anti-abuse services. If we enable a CAPTCHA service on a sign-in or form page, its provider may set cookies and collect information about your device and behaviour in order to distinguish people from automated traffic. The provider processes that information independently of us under its own privacy policy.

Managing cookies

Because we do not set cookies for public visitors, there is nothing you need to opt out of when browsing this website. You can also control cookies through your browser settings: most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies, and warn you before a cookie is set. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent members of our team from signing in to the content management area, but has no effect on the public website.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature that requires cookies. When we make a substantive change we will update the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page.
